With roughly 10 years experience, countless gigs and a whole lot of beer Funkdub has gained one of the most recognized names in dance music on the East Coast of Canada. Funkdub (aka James Dobbin) made his name through a number of residencies with Halifax's most prolific production companies including Slip Disc, Massive Productions and his own company Face the Music. Having played practically every dance music venue in Halifax and the Maritimes he was able to open for some of the biggest headliners in the world including Dj Dan, Bad Boy Bill, Richard Vission, John Aquaviva, and Collette which comprises a list that most would be envious of.

Four years ago Funkdub found himself transplanted in Calgary and quickly found himself in a residency at Calgary's most infamous after hours club The Warehouse. During his brief stint he shared the stage with the likes of Mark Farina, Dj Sneak, and Dj Icey. He eventually moved on to start one of the most recognized and popular Friday nights in the city with his partner Jody Crowe. After a year and a half Hustle has became synonymous with the Calgary house scene and the two partners continue to build and develop the night through their love for house and strong business sense. In 2007 Funkdub teamed up with four of Calgary's finest dj's and producers to create Almanovamusic.com a unique marketing tool which has branched into a clothing line and production company.
